We are currently recruiting a Bilingual Mental Health Consultant to provide direct mental health services in the City of Chicago and Greater Chicagoland areas.
The Bilingual Mental Health Consultant will be the main point of contact for all mental health services for several of our Early Head Start & Head Start sites in the City of Chicago and surrounding suburbs in Illinois.
As you step into the position, you will be responsible for:
Delivering early childhood mental health consultation support to Early Head Start & Head Start staff, children, and families Conducting parent and staff trainings General Classroom and Individual observations Brief crisis counseling Providing culturally relevant community resources and referrals Our ideal candidate:
Holds a Bachelor's degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Early Childhood Special Education, Counseling, or a degree under Behavioral Sciences.
Is bilingual-English and Spanish with oral and written fluency Thrives on organization and ensures that details are attended to Has demonstrated experience in providing behavioral management for young children and established experience of 2 years or more working with infant/toddlers and preschool children and families Is knowledgeable about child development with a focus on social and emotional development for children ages 0-5 years old Enjoys sharing knowledge and is comfortable developing and presenting information related to mental health and wellness with a dynamic presentation style.
Hours of Operation and Compensation The Bilingual Mental Health Consultant position is part-time/supplemental.
This is a contractual, fee for service position with an expected commitment through July 2023.
Potential to extend beyond time frame based on performance.
Hours are flexible and may include some evening hours.
